Kurt Sokolski, Assoc. AIA   -President / Director of Design

• over 15 years experience in the design profession

• Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture (B.A.)
• Associate member of the: American Institute of Architects

Kurt demonstrated design talent as a child and designed his first house at age 17. In high school, Kurt was enrolled in the school's "gifted and talented program" which allowed him to apprentice with a local licensed architect during school hours every week. Kurt continued his design education by earning 2 degrees in architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, one of the best architecture schools on the east coast. His thesis project for his Bachelor of Architecture degree focused exclusively on housing and contemporary residential design issues. After college, Kurt spent about 7 years working at large architecture firms and had the opportunity to work with award-winning licensed architects to further enhance his design training and education. Kurt has had his own residential practice for about 8 years with a diverse client base that has included homeowners, home builders and developers.Kurt is in the process of completing the state exams to acquire an architectural license even though it is not required to practice residential design. He is pursuing licensure as a demonstration of his committent to bringing ever increasing value to present and future clients.

• over 10 years of office management experience 
• Honors graduate of King's College in Charlotte, N.C.

Paula has many years of office management and business experience within the design/construction industry as well as the medical industry. She has successfully handled many diverse responsibilities including:

accountanting, bookeeping, receptionist,billing, executive assistant, marketing and design consultation. 

Paula is a highly valuable part of KPS Design as she brings many varied skills to the company.
